Role: Analyst – Under 23s Development team (U23)

Reports to: Head of Analysis & Development team (U23) team Manager

Position: Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an analyst to join our Under 23s Development team (U23) to aid and assist with the education of the U23 players, to further develop their technical and tactical understanding of the game. The successful candidate will also conduct relevant analysis on opposition development teams to prepare them for the next step in their football education.

Millwall football club prides itself on developing players from within its own academy and has a strong history of doing so, as of last seasons squad more than ten players have graduated from the academy structure to play first team football.

Role summary

To work alongside Head of Analysis to deliver tailored analysis to Development team (U23) players and staff
To film U23 Development team games throughout the season
To complete detailed post match analysis on our own performances
Database and analyse our own performances against the footballs clubs KPI’s benchmarking against the requirements of the first team.
To source and analyse the match footage of our loan players, and monitor their development away from the club, benchmarking against the requirements of the first team.
To keep at the forefront of technological advances within analysis
Attend training and CPD events when required
Assist the Head of Analysis with first team duties when required

Requirements of the candidate

Completed BSc in Performance Analysis / Sports science or related subject
High level of tactical and technical knowledge and understanding of the game
Proficient in the use of leading performance analysis software; Hudl / Sportscode, Coach paint, etc.
Strong IT skills particularly in Excel
Ability to develop interpret data, develop and create interactive presentations, as well as the ability to deliver clear and concise feedback in a professional manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Trustworthiness and an appreciation of confidential information

This is an entry level Performance analysis role ideally suited to a graduate looking to gain experience within a professional football environment and therefore the remuneration will be in line with experience. The role will be based at Millwall Football club training ground, Calmont Road, Bromley, BR1 4BZ, with additional travel to away games as required.
