JOB DESCRIPTION​

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated candidate to join the Academy Analysis department at Birmingham City Football Club in the role of Academy Performance Analyst.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate and promote the Academy culture creating an elite environment for the development of young players.
Have consistently high standards.
Communicate and engage with parents/guardians where appropriate.
Monitor the wellbeing of Academy players at all times, liaising with the Head of Safeguarding & Player Care.
Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times.
Encourage equality and diversity within the workplace and promote a culture that is inclusive for all.​

ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Head of Academy Performance Analysis & Data to meet the objectives of the Performance Analysis & Data programme.
Develop and implement new strategies in liaison with the Head of Academy Performance Analysis & Data to enhance the player learning process and overall efficiency of the programme.
Support analysis processes specifically for the U9-U14 age groups but will also support from U16-U23. To include, assisting coaching team, access to and operation of online platforms.
Creation and uploading of learning activation videos to online platforms.
Provide coaches with content to create learning review videos and upload them to online platforms.
Analyse, review and evaluate fixtures to produce statistical data as detailed in the Academy Performance Plan.
Evaluation of game data and creation of key information on observed trends to coaching staff as required.
Live recording and coding of academy fixtures.
Create & deliver age appropriate performance analysis sessions to players.
Live recording of academy training when necessary.
Facilitate the collection of FMS in liaison with the Head of Sport Science & Medicine.
Prepare, delivery and record day-release education sessions in liaison with Head of Education and Welfare.
Manage the creation and development of individual & team highlights libraries.
Oversee weekly Coach Analysis process with an academy coach to provide objective coach feedback.
Produce video content for recruitment staff to review potential targets.​

PERSON SPECIFICATION​

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

Degree or relevant experience in Performance Analysis or relevant field.
Previous analysis experience working within an academy environment in professional football
A full UK driving license​
Desirable Requirements

​Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent.
FA Level 2 Coaching Licence or relevant coaching experience and qualifications.
Terms of Appointment ​

37.5 hours per week.
20 days annual leave (rising by 1 day per completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus 8 statutory bank holidays).
6 Month probation period

​Skills and Abilities
Essential Requirements

Experience of working within the schoolboys phase.
Knowledge and experience of Hudl Sportscode.
Experience or knowledge of the working of the sportscode and video editing software suite.
Strong IT Skills particularly around Microsoft Office and/or Numbers/Keynote/Pages
Ability to relate to and understand young people, demonstrating personality & enthusiasm.
Flexible and adaptable to the working patterns of elite sports environments.
Awareness of the elite sports culture.
Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
Excellent communication skills
Be able to work in a professional and responsible manner.
Have excellent attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical differences and similarities of professional football.
