I tend find conferences can be really hit or miss. Often they try and cater for everybody and in the end cater for nobody. However there are two interesting conferences coming up this month that specialize or heavily feature Performance Analysis.
The Science of Professional Football
This year’s Science and Football Conference promises to be a fantastic event with genuine insights from the leading practitioners, academics and sports brands working in professional football.
The conference will consist of keynote presentations, break out conferences and opportunities to network throughout the day.
Areas covered include;
- Sports Science
- Sports Medicine
- Performance Analysis
Also, there will be careers advice available for those seeking opportunities in the football industry, including internships and work experience.
The Science and Football Conference is a one day event at the University of East London Docklands Campus, Sunday 27th March 2011. Check out the conference site here: Science & Football
MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference
The Aim of this conference is: To provide a forum for industry professionals (executives and leading researchers) and students to discuss the increasing role of analytics in the sports industry. MIT Sloan is dedicated to fostering growth in this arena, and the conference enriches opportunities for learning and understanding the sports business world.
The good news with this conference is that most of the talks are recorded and made available free of charge afterwards. This is really a fabulous resource and afford people this side of the pond to get some of the information without the cost of attending.
Just check out the conference programme for a taste of what you can expect. Conference Programme
