Heart of Midlothian FC key responsibilities:

  • Produce post-match individual and team video edits and statistics of 10 selected Women’s International matches from video footage provided by the Women’s Scottish Football Association
  • Film selected National Performance Programme training sessions on a fortnightly basis on request from the High Performance Football Manager

Applicant requirements

Essential

  • Minimum upper second class honours degree in a related subject (e.g. Sports Science or Performance Analysis)
  • Excellent information technology skills
  • Knowledge of video camera set-up (e.g. pan, tilt and zoom functions)
  • Experience of providing post-match individual and/or team video edits or statistics to high
  • performance coaches and players
  • Experience of using Mac OS operating systems and in filming sports matches
  • Must be willing to work weekends and unsociable hours

Desirable

  • A postgraduate qualification in a discipline relevant to the topic area
  • Knowledge of football
  • Demonstrable experience of using Focus X2 software to produce video edits for players and coaches
  • ISPAS Level 3 accreditation
  • Experience in data analytics and computer programming

Development Squad Performance Analyst Intern

AFC Bournemouth are looking to recruit a full time development squad performance analyst intern for the remainder of the 2014-15 season. The position will be based at the Goldsands Stadium, Dean Court, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH7 7AF.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Filming development squad games when arranged. These could be arranged for any weekday.
  • Filming training.
  • Maintaining a database of match footage and clips.
  • Carrying out analyses on footage of players that have been loaned out.
  • Analysing development squad games and working with our development squad coach to produce post match presentations.

The applicant will report to the Senior Analyst – Garvan Stewart. He/she will also work internally with the other analysts at the club both with the first team and academy and the development squad coach.

Tring Athletic Football Club – Volunteer Video Analyst

tlcTring Athletic Football Club from the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division (Step 5 / Level 9) are looking for volunteers to help develop their Performance Analysis capabilities.

The role will involve a range of tasks, including filming (Home and Away within Greater London/Herts/Beds/Bucks) and editing of matches with the aim to use this footage not only for both Coaching but also to improve the level of awareness of the club through use of footage via Web/ Social Media. Experience in recording matches/Performance Analysis is preferred but not essential.

Give the number of matches and potential travel involved, the aim is to use publicly available open- source tools such as Longomatch to enable any work to be shared across a number of people, to avoid the need for a single person to be responsible for all activity.

As such, the role offers an opportunity to for anyone interested to get involved even if they are unable to commit to filming all games and would suit anyone looking for hands-on experience within Performance Analysis as part of a future career or study and working within a football club in general.
