This role requires a forward thinking person with the appropriate communication and analyst skills to implement, manage and co-ordinate the football analysis of the Academy.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Filming all Academy U-18 fixtures home and away
  • Producing post-match reports and video analysis
  • Overseeing filming of younger age group fixtures
  • Managing volunteers
  • Maintaining and updating databases of footage
  • Producing themed videos when required
  • Assist first team analyst with a range of tasks

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work with the Full time Academy Staff, ideally with previous experience in a professional sport environment.

The candidate must have a strong work ethic, the ability to manage their own time and to work on their own initiative.

The successful applicant should have experience of filming football using performance analysis software, especially Sportscode Gamebreaker, as well as competent Microsoft Office skills.

The individual will be required to show a flexible attitude and be available to work evening schoolboy sessions, Saturday mornings (match days) and Sunday games.

Casual Cover Performance Analysts

Bristol CityBristol City FC requires a number of casual cover performance analysts to join our Academy Sports Science and Medicine Department for match-day filming. Successful applicants will be required to film weekend fixtures; predominantly on Sunday mornings. The role would suit individuals looking to gain experience within football who are currently looking to start, are enrolled on, or have recently graduated from a Sports Science or related degree.


  • Filming of Foundation and Youth Development Phase fixtures on weekends (predominately Sundays).
  • Although not a requirement of the role, additional experience within the working week will be made available at each individual’s behest.

Person Specification:

Barnsley F.C. Academy – Performance Analysis Paid Intern

The role will included the filming, coding and data analysis of U21 and U18 games providing reports and statistics to the appropriate coaching and support staff. Additionally, you will be required to engage with other P.A. interns in regard to the support delivered to the remaining age groups throughout the clubs Academy (U9-U21).

Reporting to: Alex Bailey (Head of Performance Analysis), Paul Bower (Head of Academy Sports Science & Medicine), Ronnie Branson (Academy Manager)

Purpose of the role

  • To contribute to all performance analysis support throughout the Category-2 Academy.

Role Description

An exciting opportunity has become available at Watford Football  Club. We are looking to recruit a First Team Analyst who will join a  very busy team within the football department based at the clubs  training ground in London Colney. The successful candidate will provide a performance analyst  function to the Watford FC first team as required by the coaching  staff and management team of the club. This role will include working all first team games, home and away, including overnight  stays when necessary.

Main Duties:

  • Film and provide analysis for all first team games, friendlies and training sessions as requested by the coaching staff.
  • Code all first team matches and provide post-match statistical reports.
  • Produce reports on upcoming opposition as well as a prematch video presentation.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by the head coach, management team or other members of the football staff.

Essential requirements

  • BSc degree in a Performance Analysis-related field.
  • 2 years experience in working in a sporting performance analysis role.
  • Experience of using analysis systems (SportsCode, Prozone etc) and video editing software (Final Cut Pro, iMovie etc).
  • Experience of working to deadlines, in a highly pressurised environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate.
