The Role & Expectations:
Edinburgh Rugby are looking for a Performance Analysis intern to work at the club along  side the Head of Performance Analysis for season 2012 / 2013. This is a great opportunity  to gain some valuable experience of working in a professional sporting organisation within  Europe’s leading club rugby competition the Heineken Cup aswell as the RaboPro12.
You will be expected to film training/games, code and analyse through our specific  computer aided software package and be in a position to produce data/reports as directed  by the Head of Performance Analysis. The role will also take a lead on Elite Development
Players to collate their club games and present to Head Analyst and EDP Manager.  The successful candidate should have a knowledge and understanding of excel/numbers  and have a general interest in the game of Rugby Union. The role will include both  weekdays and some weekend work which covers training days and game days.

Norwich City - ACADEMY LEAD MATCH ANALYST

Norwich City Football Club is looking to recruit a self-motivated, committed, confident and knowledgeable individual to join the Sports Science & Medicine Department in the position of Academy Lead Match Analyst, reporting to the Head of Sports Science & Medicine. The role of Lead Match Analyst is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club in ensuring that procedures are in place to effectively analyse results of Academy matches in order for coaches and players to have feedback from games through post-match analysis.

The Lead Match Analyst will be employed on a full-time basis and will lead the Academy Match Analysis Department in conjunction with the Lead Sport Scientist to ensure all Performance Analysis services within each of the Phases of the Player Performance Pathway are efficiently and effectively run. The role of Academy Lead Match Analyst will further enhance the Academy structure in pursuit of Category One Status in line with the Premier League Elite Player Performance Plan.

Please note, as well as experience at Academy or professional level being preferred, as a pre-requisite all applicants will require the following qualifications:

Charlton Athletic Football Club

Academy Performance Analyst

Charlton Athletic FC are looking to recruit a full-time performance analyst to oversee the technical and tactical analysis for developing players through the Youth Academy.

The role requires all home and away games to be filmed and put onto DVD for players and staff. The analyst will also be expected to capture and code matches live and post match, coding individual touches of the players as well as team specific analytical aspects. The successful candidate will have opportunities to prepare debrief sessions for the Academy players and coaches as well as providing post match statistical analysis of each game. Performance Analysis Intern

Charlton Athletic FC have an exciting internship available based at the Charlton Athletic Training Ground, Sparrows Lane, New Eltham, working a minimum of 3 days per week.

The internship will support the work of the Senior and Academy performance analysts, while overseeing the match analysis and player development across the U9 – U16 teams. The role will involve filiming all U16 home games and selected away games and transferring footage on DVDs for players and staff. The intern will be expected to capture and code matches in game (live) and post match, coding individual touches of the players as well as team specific analytical aspects. Gloucester Rugby – Performance Analysis Intern

Gloucester Rugby are looking to recruit a performance analysis intern to work 30 hours per week alongside the Head of Performance Analysis. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience and expertise with a leading professional rugby club.

The successful intern can expect to film, code and analyse training as directed by the Head of Performance Analysis. The intern will be responsible for collating an opposition preview. There will be opportunities to create presentations and feedback to coaches and players. The role will involve working with Academy Coaches and players as well as providing support to the Head of Performance Analysis at 1st team matches.

The role requires a knowledge and understanding of performance analysis techniques achieved through academic study. Candidates should have some experience of rugby union as a player or a coach. The intern should have a basic knowledge of SportsCode software as well as an understanding of MS Excel. West Bromwich Albion FC – Academy Performance Analysis Intern

West Bromwich Albion FC is looking to recruit a full-time Performance Analysis Intern to work within the Academy Analysis department, working towards the clubs ambition of becoming a category 1 academy.

The successful intern will have duties which will include filming matches and training across all academy age groups throughout the season including U21′s, U18′s and below. The intern can expect other duties such as live and post-match coding, providing post-match statistics and video clips to staff and players. There will also be the opportunity to  create and develop special projects aiming to facilitate learning and development of academy players. The successful applicant will also be expected to prepare and deliver analysis meetings with players and staff, liasing with the 1st team analysis department and coaches, ensuring a consistency of analysis and football philosophy throughout all levels of the football club.

The role would be ideal for a postgraduate student looking to further their professional experience and enhance their qualifications with regular CPD work. It would be preferable if applicants had experience of video editing as well as experience using SportsCode and ProZone software packages. A background in coaching and analysing football, understanding the tactics employed on a football pitch would also be desirable.

To support the Performance Analysis programme of the Welsh Football Trust in the 3 main areas of work;
FAW national squad support,  player development and  coach education.
Working under the supervision of the Performance Analysis Manager, the intern will receive training and development in the latest performance analysis techniques and will have the
opportunity to work directly with coaches and players.
This is a wide-ranging role which will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop filming, editing, analysis and interpersonal skills and the chance to work at the elite level of football in Wales.

Brentford FC - Academy Performance Analysis Internships

An opportunity has arisen at Brentford FC Academy for two part time Performance Analysis Internships. The analysts will receive match fees.

The role will be working with the academy teams, filming and coding home and away games. The analysts will be required to analyse team and individual data and produce team and individual player analysis reports. There will be opportunities to provide video feedback for the team and individuals.

Swansea City FC are looking to recruit a full-time analyst to work within the analysis department for the 2012/2013 season. The successful applicant will be working directly with the 1st team, providing analysis support through SportsCode and Amisco software packages. There will be training given and opportunities to gain professional development throughout the season.

Sunderland Association Football Club – Academy Match Analyst

Sunderland AFC have an exciting, opportunity for a candidate to gain invaluable experience working for the Academy Manager, Senior Development Coach and Head Coach.

The role requires a wide range of technical expertise, including the responsibility of filming video footage for analysis. The role will be focused on the full time scholar programme as well as working within the Academy on an as and when basis. Previous experience of Gamebreaker as well as video editing software (Avid Liquid) is necessary as well as excellent communication skills.

The analyst would be expected to film all Saturday home fixtures as well as some away fixtures, reserve team games, some Sunday age group fixtures and training sessions throughout the Academy programme.

Performance Analysis voluntary work experience with RGC 1404 and the North Wales Academy based at Parc Eirias.

The ideal candidate will have experience of using the Sportscode software, particularly Gamebreaker. Ideally, the aspiring performance analyst will possess a strong interest in Rugby Union. We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity of working in a high performance environment at Parc Eirias, gaining invaluable experience in the industry.

R2 Asset Management – Football Video Analyst Intern

The successful candidate will assist the current analysis team in providing video analysis to support the player recruitment process. Typically, the role will be 1-2 days per week.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

  •  Sourcing and storage of video footage from matches around the world.
  • Player Highlights clips.
  • Video editing.
  • Data processing & database maintenance.

Desirable requirements:

  • Be educated to, or studying towards, a relevant masters / degree.
  • Possess knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in video editing [training will be given].
  • Experience using video analysis software [training will be given].

The candidate must show a positive attitude and a willingness to help when necessary. In addition the candidate should have excellent football knowledge and a desire to have a career in performance analysis. Brief

England Men & Women are currently ranked 4th in the World Rankings and the England U21 squads are in a European Championship year with the competition being held late August in the Netherlands. England Hockey are looking for two Performance Analysts, one for each squad, to aid with match analysis and some training camps leading up to these European Championships.

2012 Season

The respective analysts would be required to work closely with coaches and athletes for around 10-15 days through this season mainly at Lilleshal National Sports Centre. Expenses may be provided.

Colchester United FC – Youth Team Development Analyst Internships

Colchesterr United FC are looking to recruit two members of staff to fulfil Development Analyst roles working with a diverse range of players, from the U9s team to the U18s team. The voluntary internship will be based at the Colchester United FC training ground, Tiptree for the forthcoming 2012-2013 season lasting 11 months.

Applicants can expect responsibilities such as recording and coding all home fixtures and to work for specific staff and individuals.  The analyst will be expected to be available on weekend mornings as well as one weekday per week – totaling a maximum of 18 hours per week.
The performance feedback will be reported by to the Head of Performance Analysis on a weekly basis. The successful applicant can expect excellent CPD opportunities throughout the season coupled with extensive experience of working in a forward thinking professional football club.

A Sport Science related degree is desired and preferably candidates should have a Level 2+ coaching qualification and experience of player development in football.

Dagenham and Redbridge FC Academy and Centre of Excellence – Performance Analyst Intern

Dagenham and Redbridge FC are looking to appoint a voluntary performance analyst on a part-time basis. The role is to video the Under 18s game on a Saturday, one CoE game on a Sunday and to provide statistical post-match analysis on a Monday afternoon (approx. 13:30pm for the Academy and Wednesday evening (approx.6:30pm) for the CoE.

The internship will run to the end of May, in return for the intern’s work they will receive exposure to the professional football world and gain valuable experience in the process.

The successful applicant will possess excellent video editing and IT skills as well as an under/postgraduate degree in sport science or performance analysis (or working towards such a degree).
